Man on Fire

Compared to my last couple of pieces, this was a relatively quick one to finish. I was originally going to render the smoke in pencil but it didn't blend in with the inkwash I used for the flames at all. I ended up using india ink for the smoke instead. Though the concept and composition are fairly simple and straight forward, it was still a bit of a struggle to get everything how I wanted it. I'm happy with how it turned out.

  1. Awesome illustration!! Love the rendering of the fire and smoke, looks so realistic. Although very flat the use of negative space of the windows make for an interesting composition for the background to create a sense of depth.

    1. Thanks, Jenny! I appreciate you taking the time to analyze this. Very kind of you to say!
